Greece Rotary cuts out stars from old American flags for veterans
Greece, New York — Wednesday members of the Rotary club in Greece met to share their token of appreciation for U.S. Veterans as Veteran’s Day approaches.
Greece’s Rotarians gathered to carefully cut out stars from old American flags. Each star was then placed into a small plastic bag with a special note attached.
“We basically put a card – they’re not forgotten and here’s a star and say thank you to veterans, families, military soldiers,” said rotary club member, Chuck Gannon.
By now, they’ve been able to hand out thousands of stars as part of the “Stars for our Troops” program.
