Gift cards for those who receive vaccine

Rochester, New York — Wednesday Trillium Health is administering COVID-19 vaccinations at the RTS Transit Center.
The clinic gives a $50 gift card to those who receive the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine and those who receive the two-dose Pfizer and Moderna vaccines will get a $25 gift card for each dose at the time of vaccination.
The gift cards are being funded by a grant from the Community Health Care Association of New York State.
The clinic will also be offering free walk-in STD/HIV/Hepatitis C testing.
One of those who received the vaccine at the pop-up clinic was Mike Schmidt. He said he was experiencing no side effects Wednesday after getting his shot.
“I was taking a bus anyway, but I said, ‘You know what? I’m going to check that out,’” he said. “And you know what? I don’t feel anything, whatsoever.”
“We do still encounter people that haven’t had the opportunity to get vaccinated and haven’t had time to make it to their doctor’s office or any of these other vaccination events,” said Trillium Nurse Practitioner Sean Owen, “but they’re able to make it when it’s just a quick stop on their way home or their way to work.”
According to Schmidt says he’s encouraging others who haven’t gotten vaccinated to do so.
“It’s nothing,” he said. “The water might be cold but you know what? It’s awesome.”
The transit center is located at 60 St. Paul St.
