127 new cases and 10 new deaths reported in Monroe County

Rochester, New York — According to the Monroe County Department of Public Health, 127 new COVID-19 cases and 10 new deaths, are reported on Tuesday.
The county says over the holiday weekend, there were 188 new cases on Saturday, 138 new cases on Sunday, and 72 new cases on Monday.
The county is averaging 154 new cases per day over the past week, with a seven-day rolling average positivity rate of 4.0%, per the latest update to the county’s COVID-19 dashboard on Sept. 7.
The case rate per 100,000 people over the last seven days was 159.21 through Sept. 6, according to the Centers for Disease Control, which it defines as high.
According to health officials, 65.2% (484,419 people) of Monroe County residents have received at least one dose of the vaccine, and 453,073 residents, or 61% of the population, are fully vaccinated as of Sept. 7.
Monroe County’s COVID data tracker shows 176 COVID patients hospitalized and 46 in the ICU as of Sept. 5, which is the last day it was updated.
According to the CDC’s COVID-19 data tracker, 6.05% of Monroe County’s hospital beds were occupied by COVID patients and
11.68% of Monroe County’s ICU beds were occupied by COVID-19 patients as of Sept. 5.
Monroe County said as of Monday, Aug. 30, there were 11 fully vaccinated hospital patients, two of whom are in the ICU and one of whom is on a ventilator. In contrast, the county says there are 40 unvaccinated hospital patients, 10 of whom are in the ICU and nine of whom are on a ventilator. The county has not provided an update since Monday.
To date, 1,379 people in Monroe County have died from COVID-19 since March 2020.
The Monroe County Department of Public Health resumed providing an update on new COVID-19 cases every weekday on July 27. The CDC’s numbers are updated daily, but lag by several days.
