Batavia man charged with additional counts of rape, sex abuse
Batavia, New York — A Batavia man is facing new charges after he was arrested for rape and sex abuse earlier this year.
A 40-year-old, Melvin Huntley, was arrested in July and charged with predatory sexual assault against a child, course of conduct against a child, sex abuse and rape.
Genesee County Sheriff’s deputies allege the abuse dated back to 2014. He was later charged with additional counts of child endangerment and sex abuse involving victims under 13 and 11 after deputies say other victims came forward with allegations.
According to deputies, additional charges of rape, sex abuse, and predatory sexual assault were filed against Huntley on Friday.
The charges stem from an additional victim in the case, deputies said.
According to deputies, the investigation has been completed, and they know of no other victims at this time. In all, deputies allege Huntley committed crimes against four victims over a seven-year period.
Huntley remains in the Genesee County Jail.
