Car spotted in Genesee River, rescue crews find no one inside
Rochester, New York — On Monday morning after a car was spotted half-submerged, the Rochester Fire Department Water Rescue Team made their way across a raging Genesee River.
At around 9:30 a.m. crews entered the water and made their way out to the vehicle. No one was found inside.
“I’ve never seen anything like this,” said Rebekah Diamond of Rochester. “I always look in the river when we cross by. Not sure why, but I do. I’m glad I looked in there today, made sure that nobody was in there.”
Authorities have not yet said how the vehicle ended up in the river or what, if anything, was found inside.
