Two men in their 30s died in separate incidents Saturday morning
Rochester, New York — According to Rochester police, at least two more homicides are reported in Rochester, bringing the city’s total to 73 just this year.
Just after midnight, a man was killed in a shootout in the parking lot of a lounge on West Avenue. Another person was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
According to authorities, both victims are in their 30s.
Around 2 a.m. Saturday morning, another shooting took place near the Black Bear Pub on West Ridge Road.
According to police, multiple shots were fired into a group in a parking lot. A man in his 30s died at the scene.
These incidents are isolated, and there is no threat to the public at this time, according to Rochester police.
“This is not to minimize the loss of life, being a victim of violence is never acceptable,” Interim RPD Chief David Smith said in a statement. “The Rochester Police Department wishes to pass on our condolences to the surviving family members. We also request and encourage any assistance from witnesses who may have observed this violence. It will take our community joining together in peace to bring peace.”
