More than 20K still without power in Monroe County
Rochester, New York – According to RG&E reports, 20,936 customers in Monroe County are without power on Sunday morning (as of 9:23 a.m.).
High winds toppled trees and left thousands of RG&E customers without power Saturday and Sunday in Monroe, Ontario, Livingston, and Wayne counties.
Crews continued to work to restore power throughout the night but precise restoration times are still being assessed in many instances.
Traffic lights had been out at several intersections and toppled trees blocked others.
The town of Greece called in additional police and special police to assist with traffic control.
Monroe County issued a warning Saturday to avoid any unnecessary travel due to the high winds and electricity outages.
