Schools in Monroe County working to maintain in-person learning
Monroe County, New York – Schools are going to do everything they can to keep kids learning in person, according to the head of school superintendents in Monroe County.
According to Bo Wright, officials are working on getting more testing kits in the hands of parents after the holiday break ends.
He also spoke on updated CDC guidance allowing essential workers to return to work five days after testing positive.
Wright said the new guidance could help alleviate staffing shortages in schools.
New York state hasn’t adopted the new standards yet
“This is a big step in terms of addressing some of the concerns around staffing shortages that have been created as a result of the pandemic,” said Wright.
Schools are also working with both the state and county to secure more test kits and KN95 masks, according to Wright.
