Two overnight arrests in Rochester
Rochester, New York – On Monday overnight, Rochester Police made two arrests, including one for a loaded handgun.
Rochester Police responded to North Clinton Avenue around 12:40 a.m.to address a large gathering that was occurring in the area.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers became involved in a foot chase with Jacar Cooper, age 23, who was believed to have a loaded, illegally possessed handgun.
Later, Cooper was taken into custody and charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon and resisting, after a loaded Highpoint .45 caliber handgun was found in Cooper’s possession.
A 21-year-old, Jermaine Williams, age 21, was also arrested after he tried to physically interfere with the previous arrest.
Williams has been charged with obstruction of governmental administration, resisting, and menacing in the 3rd degree.
