Hundreds of athletes came out to Lake Ontario for Rochester Triathlon
Rochester, New York – On Sunday, hundreds of triathletes took to the shores of Lake Ontario for the Rochester Triathlon.
Those athletes did have it a little easier today because the swimming portion of the race was canceled, making it a duathlon.
This year was the 11th installment of the race and it was also completely sold out.
“The Rochester area triathletes who sponsor this event, they’ve really grown the club and I think this is a testament to that because normally we wouldn’t have sold this out. It would have been ah okay we have 200. Now we’re 325, sold out, and have a waiting list, so more people wanted to come in to do the event so it’s great to see all these athletes,” said Bert Gallmon, race director.
