NYSEG and RG&E prepare for strong winds
New York – NYSEG and RG&E are preparing for the potential of strong winds, expected to impact service areas statewide on Sunday.
The Western New York and Rochester service areas are expected to experience average wind gusts of 40-45 mph, with max gusts possibly reaching 60-65 mph.
There is also a chance for potential thunderstorms in the area. The strongest winds are expected to occur Sunday afternoon.
The companies’ storm readiness teams are monitoring weather forecasts and preparing crews in case of an outage.
The companies are asking customers to prepare for the possibility of service interruptions.
