RCSD students can undergo COVID testing at school

Rochester, New York — Students in the Rochester City School District, can undergo testing for coronavirus at school.

According to Superintendent Dr. Lesli Myers-Small, the testing for asymptomatic students involves a shallow nose swab and will be free.

“As we return to in-person learning, one way to help keep everyone safe is by screening students for COVID-19,” she said.

Consent forms will be sent home with students during the first week of school. They can also be filled out online. The testing is voluntary.

Rite Aid is offering free testing for students across the state. Earlier this month, the district announced employees must get vaccinated or undergo weekly testing.

Students return to school on Wednesday, Sept. 8.
