Two separate early morning shootings in Rochester
Rochester, New York – Two separate early morning shootings occurred in Rochester on Friday.
According to Rochester Police, the first report came around 5 a.m. on Maria Street.
Upon arrival at the scene, police located evidence of several gunshots fired into an occupied home. The house was occupied by five people, including a 14-year-old child who was sleeping on an air mattress that was struck by gunfire, deflating the mattress. The teen was not hit. No injuries were reported.
Police received a report of gunshots fired in the area of Augustine Street, not long after around 6 a.m..
When police arrived, they located evidence of gunshots in an occupied home. No injuries were also reported.
In both cases, no arrests have been made.
The investigation is ongoing.
Police ask anyone with information to call 911 or Crime Stoppers at 423-9300.
