Woman accused of hiding man’s body outside hospital
Geneva, New York – After a man’s body was found outside Geneva General Hospital, a woman faces manslaughter charges.
According to police, a 44-year-old, Keith Morlang, of Waterloo, had a medical emergency Friday morning.
Kiara Scott, 21, of Geneva, allegedly took Morlang to a parking lot behind Geneva General Hospital and attempted to conceal his body behind an abandoned vehicle so he wouldn’t be found.
On Sunday night, police found Morlang’s body, partially in weeds and gravel, and investigated his death as suspicious.
Scott allegedly had informed Morlang’s family members that she was taking him to the hospital for medical treatment. Police found Scott in Rochester and arrested her Wednesday and charged her with second-degree manslaughter and concealed of a human corpse. She was taken to Ontario County Jail for arraignment.
Scott and Morlang had been in a relationship, police said.
Morlang’s cause of death hasn’t been released, as police await autopsy results. Police continue to look for a second suspect, Lacrita Verstraete, 24, a friend of Scott. She’s described as a white female with red hair, 5-foot-7 and 115 lbs. Police believe she may be in Rochester.
Geneva Police Detective J.D. Winter asks anyone with information to contact at (315) 828-6780 or the on-duty supervisor at (315) 789-1111.
