406 new coronavirus cases in Monroe County
Rochester, New York — The Monroe County Department of Public Health reported 406 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday.

The county is averaging 328 new cases per day over the past week, with a seven-day rolling average positivity rate of 6%, per the latest update to the county’s COVID-19 dashboard on Nov. 9.
The seven-day COVID-19 case rate was 284.19 through Nov. 8 according to the Centers for Disease Control, which it defines as high.
According to health officials, 77.4% (497,869 people) of Monroe County residents have received at least one dose of the vaccine, and 450,233 residents, or 70% of the population, are fully vaccinated as of Nov. 8, the last day an update was provided.
Monroe County’s COVID data tracker shows 250 COVID patients hospitalized and 68 in the ICU as of Nov. 7, which is the last day it was updated.
According to the CDC’s COVID-19 data tracker, 7.35% of Monroe County’s hospital beds were occupied by COVID patients, and 14.5% of Monroe County’s ICU beds were occupied by COVID-19 patients as of Nov. 7.
To date, 1,455 people in Monroe County have died from COVID-19 since March 2020. The county says between March 1, 2021, and Oct. 31, 2021, a total of 198 COVID-19 related deaths were reported: 93% of the deaths in patients younger than 65 were not fully vaccinated and 71% of patients 65 and older were not fully vaccinated.
The Monroe County Department of Public Health resumed providing an update on new COVID-19 cases every weekday on July 27. The CDC’s numbers are updated daily but lag by several days.
