Franklin High School was put in lockout after shooting incident, several shots fired
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester Police Department said that a student was shot at outside of Franklin High School on Thursday morning. This is why the school was put on lockout.
The district says that three students were walking toward the school entrance near Norton Street. A suspect got out of the car, walked toward the building, and fired several shots.
RPD says that at least one suspect was following a 16-year-old student as he ran to school. The suspect shot at the student, but the bullet didn’t hit him. Investigators thought that this might have been caused by something that happened off-campus.
The district said that no one was hurt, but as a safety measure, the school was locked down. Classes will go on as usual, but everyone coming in and out will be watched.
The Rochester Police Department was called to the school to find out what was going on after the district said that police would be on campus Thursday and Friday mornings and afternoons when students arrive and leave.
